Down the right-hand side of the dashboard are two live queues that turn CAPS28 into a real-time board for the clinical team: the Waiting Room and the Treatment panel. Together they answer “who’s here and how long have they been waiting?” without anyone walking to reception.
Waiting Room
When a patient is marked Arrived on their appointment, they appear in the Waiting Room list with a timer that counts up from the moment they arrived. At a glance the team can see who is next and, crucially, whether anyone has been waiting too long — a simple way to protect the patient experience on a busy day.
Treatment
When an appointment moves to In Treatment, the patient shifts to the Treatment panel, again with a running timer showing how long they have been in the chair. This helps the team keep chairs moving and spot when a procedure is over-running.
How patients flow through
The queues mirror the appointment status lifecycle: a patient goes from Scheduled/Confirmed → Arrived (Waiting Room) → In Treatment (Treatment) → and finally Left, at which point they drop off the boards. Because the panels refresh with the dashboard and the timers tick on their own, a reception or operatory screen stays accurate all day with no manual updating.
