The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you sign in to CAPS28, and it is designed to answer one question at a glance: what is happening in my practice right now? It brings the numbers that matter, today’s schedule and the live clinic queues into a single view, so the front desk and clinicians start the day already oriented.
What’s on the dashboard
- Summary cards — a row of eight tiles across the top (patients, appointments, treatments, lab works, balances, pending transactions, chairs, users). Each is a live count and a shortcut — click it to jump straight into that module.
- My Appointments (Today) — the appointments assigned to you (the signed-in user) for today.
- Today’s Appointments — every appointment in the clinic today, with time, status, patient, chair and provider. Status badges open the appointment’s details.
- Reminders & Recall — the follow-ups due, so nobody is forgotten.
- Temporary Registrations — walk-ins and quick registrations waiting to be converted into full patient records.
- Waiting Room and Treatment — the live queues down the right-hand side, showing who has arrived and who is in the chair, with a running timer.
Everything is a shortcut
The dashboard is a launch-pad: cards open modules, a patient’s name opens their record (hover for a quick popover), and an appointment badge opens its details and status controls without leaving the page.
Keeping it current
Set the dashboard to auto-refresh every few minutes from Office → General → Dashboard Refresh — ideal for a reception screen that should always show the latest arrivals and schedule. The waiting-room and treatment timers tick up on their own between refreshes.
